WHY COLORS ARE IMPORTANT IN FILMS

Importance of colors in language of cinema

" There is no need to explain the influence and absence of colors because we can perceive or imagine the good and bad effects of their presence and absence"

 

                                  

Little do we know how deeply color affects our emotional, mental and physical makeup without us even realizing it.

 And this is what a director shows through his cinema through color, but we don't notice it because we don't have enough knowledge, each color has its own identity and a language.  would be easy

 Considering that cinema was originally born in black and white, at that time cinema used to be a medium of entertainment with more emphasis on character acting and gestures and story, but later this changed radically, characters started talking, music came in, and color came and many directors started studying color along with other elements of cinema, just as the character arc of a character was drawn, the mood arc of the entire movie was drawn through color, and emotions began to be expressed through color.  The color scheme of the film began to play an important role in the director's vision

 WHEN TELLING A STORY, COLOR CAN…

 Expresses psychological reactions in the minds of the audience

 Focuses on important details

 

 Sets the tone of the film

 Shows character traits and more

 Indicates changes or impressions in the story

 Some directors deliberately create a sophisticated movie color palette without trying to convey a specific emotion.

  There are three main elements we see in color palettes

  Color - the color itself.  (Any, Green, Yellow, Red)

  Saturation - the intensity of a color. (its intensity)

  Value - the darkness or lightness of a color.

 Main balanced color schemes (balanced colors schemes) color palettes

 -Monochromatic color palettes

 In this we can take any color and play with its various shades

 - Complementary color palettes

 In this we can take any two opposite colors eg.  Red-blue, as well as green-red

 - Analog color palettes

 In this we can take any color that matches with any color eg.  Red-orange-yellow

 - Triadic

 In this we take three, two like and one opposite colors

 One color should be dominant and the others accented.

सिनेमा आणि रंग 

रंगांचा प्रभाव आणि अभाव याचं स्पष्टीकरण देण्याची काहीच गरज नाही कारण ते असल्याचे आणि नसल्याचे चांगले वाईट परिणाम आपण लक्षात घेऊ शकतो किंवा त्याची कल्पना करु शकतो 

आपल्याला जाणीव न होता रंगाचा किती खोलवर परिणाम आपल्या भावनिक, मानसिक आणि शारीरिक रचनेवर होत असतो हे आपल्याला माहीत ही नसते, 

आणि हेच एक दिग्दर्शक त्याच्या सिनेमातून रंगाच्या माध्यमातून देखील दाखवत असतो, पण त्याच पुरेस ज्ञान नसल्याने ते आपल्या लक्षात येत नाही, प्रत्येक रंगाला त्याची एक स्वतंत्र ओळख आणि एक भाषा असते ती देखील सिनेमा शिकताना आपण शिकायला हवी, जे न करून त्या दिग्दर्शकाचा हेतू तसेच दृष्टिकोन समजायला सोपं होईल, 

सिनेमाचा जन्म मूळ हे काळ्या आणि पांढर्‍या रंगात झाला आहे हे लक्षात घेता,त्याकाळी सिनेमा या माध्यमातून जास्त महत्त्व मनोरंजनासाठी दिलं जायचं पात्रांचा अभिनय तसेच हावभाव आणि कथेवर जास्त जोर असायचा,पण नंतर यात आमूलाग्र बदल घडवून आले, पात्र बोलू लागले, संगीत आलं, आणि रंग ही आले, आणि कित्येक दिग्दर्शकांनी सिनेमाच्या इतर घटकांसह रंगावरही अभ्यास करणे सुरू केले, ज्याप्रमाणे एका पात्राचा पात्र आलेख ( characters arc ) रेखाटला जायचा त्याच प्रमाणे एकंदरीत संपुर्ण सिनेमाचा भाव आलेख ( mood arc) रंगातून रेखाटला जाऊ लागला, आणि रंगातून भावना व्यक्त करायला सुरुवात झाली, चित्रपटाच्या रंगसंगती दिग्दर्शकाच्या दृष्टीमध्ये महत्त्वाच्या भूमिका बजावू लागल्या

प्रेक्षकांच्या मनात मनोवैज्ञानिक प्रतिक्रिया व्यक्त करतात

चित्रपटाचा टोन सेट करतात

वर्ण वैशिष्ट्ये आणि बरेच काही दर्शवितात

कथेतील बदल किंवा छाप दर्शवितात

काही दिग्दर्शक जाणूनबुजून एक सुव्यवस्थित मूव्ही कलर पॅलेट तयार करतात जे न करुन नेमक्या भावना दर्शविण्याचा प्रयत्न करतात 

 तीन मुख्य घटक आपल्याला कलर पॅलेट्स मध्ये पाहायला मिळतात 

 रंग - रंग स्वतः. ( कुठलाही , हिरवा ,पिवळा, लाल) 

 संपृक्तता - रंगाची तीव्रता.( त्याची तीव्रता) 

 मूल्य - रंगाचा गडदपणा किंवा हलकापणा.

-मोनोक्रोमॅटिक कलर पॅलेट्स 

यामध्ये आपण कुठलाही एक रंग घेऊन त्याच्या विविध शेड्स शी खेळु शकतो

- कॉम्प्लेमेंटरी कलर पॅलेट्स 

यामध्ये आपण कुठलेही दोन विरोधी रंग घेऊ शकतो उदा. लाल-निळा , तसेच हिरवा-लाल

- अनालॉग कलर पॅलेट्स 

यामध्ये आपण कुठल्याही एका रंगाशी मिळते जुळते रंग घेऊ शकतो उदा. लाल-केशरी-पिवळा 

- ट्रायडिक

यामध्ये आपण तीन, दोन सारखे आणि एक विरोधी रंग घेतो
